42

Story by Jack Foley

CHADWICK Boseman, who recently starred as Jackie Robinson in baseball biopic 42, is to play the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, in another biopic.

The as-yet untitled movie is being directed by Tate Taylor, of The Help fame, and will chronicle the life of the late music pioneer.

Mick Jagger and Victoria Pearman are among the film’s producers, as is Brian Grazer, who has been attempting to get the project made since 2001.

At one point, Eddie Murphy was attached to star, while Wesley Snipes was another name in contention to play Brown, while Spike Lee was touted as a possible director.
