Charlize Theron signs on for Mad Max 4
Story by Jack Foley
CHARLIZE Theron and Tom Hardy have signed on for George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road.
The long-awaited fourth film in the Mad Max franchise is due to start filming in August next year in Australia, although the plot is being kept under wraps for now, according to Variety.
It is also unclear whether Mel Gibson will reprise his role as Max, with Miller remaining vague about the film’s chances of landing him.
After announcing the start of pre-production work in New South Wales last week, Miller told reporters: ““It could be Mel, it could be anyone.”
Both Miller and Gibson had their careers made after the success of Mad Max in 1979, and its subsequent sequels The Road Warrior (1981) and Beyond Thunderdome (1985).
Miller went on to produce Babe and direct Happy Feet, the sequel to which he also plans to deliver in November 2011.
Theron will next be seen in another post-apocalyptic drama, The Road
