Chris Pratt in talks for The Magnificent Seven remake

Guardians of the Galaxy

Story by Jack Foley

GUARDIANS of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is in early talks to join Denzel Washington in a remake of The Magnificent Seven.

To be directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film is a remake of the classic 1960 Western about a group of gunslingers and outlaws who are hired to protect a Mexican village from marauding bandits.

Its all-star cast featured Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn and Eli Wallach.

Ironically, that movie was in itself a remake of Seven Samurai, the Japanese classic by Akira Kurosawa.

It is not yet known which role Pratt is in talks for and the report states that it remains early days but the smart money is on the actor taking on the McQueen role of Washington’s right-hand man.

Pratt will headline next summer’s blockbuster Jurassic World and is also attached to star and is developing Cowboy Ninja Viking, which currently has no director.
