Christoph Waltz dislocates pelvic bone preparing for Django Unchained

Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds

Story by Jack Foley

CHRISTOPH Waltz has dislocated his pelvic bone while preparing for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

The training accident means that the actor wasn’t able to attend the New York premiere of Carnage, the new Roman Polanski movie, as part of the New York Film Festival.

But a statement released by his people said: “Christoph Waltz was injured while training with his horse in preparation for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

“Waltz is currently being treated for a dislocated pelvic bone and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle.”

For his keenly anticipated reunion with Tarantino, Waltz is playing a German bounty hunter who helps the lead character, played by Jamie Foxx, search the American South in search of his wife, who is being kept as a slave on a plantation run by a man named Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

In other recent Django Unchained developments, Laura Cayouette, who played Rocket in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, Vol. 2, has joined the cast as DiCaprio’s widowed sister, a southern belle who co-owns the plantation.

Django Unchained is due to shoot in November.
