Christopher McQuarrie for Ice Station Zebra remake

Ice Station Zebra

Story by Jack Foley

CHRISTOPHER McQuarrie is to write and direct a remake of Ice Station Zebra.

Warner Bros. is remaking the Cold War thriller, which is based on the book by Alistair McLean, and which has previously been turned into a 1968 film starring Rock Hudson, Ernest Borgnine, Patrick McGoohan and Jim Brown.

The story focuses on an American Naval submarine team that must race the Russians to retrieve sensitive photographic material in the Arctic.

The ensuing action-adventure involved plenty of explosive action and betrayals and was a major hit upon its original release.

McQuarrie is no stranger to the type of plots that Ice Station Zebra boasts having penned the scripts for The Usual Suspects and Jack Reacher.

His involvement in this project has, however, cast doubt on whether he will be able to direct Mission: Impossible 5, although no firm production schedule has been put into place for that.
