Chuck star Zachary Levi eyes Thor 2 role

Chuck: Season 3

Story by Jack Foley

FORMER Chuck star Zachary Levi is eying a role in Thor 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the TV favourite could replace Josh Dallas as the characterof Frandral, one of the Warriors Three in Thor.

Dallas is almost certainly departing the sequel because to his commitments to the ABC show Once Upon A Time.

If successful, the move would complete a turnaround in fortunes for Levi, who had been in talks to originally play the role back in 2010, but who had to bow out when his own show, Chuck, got a last-minute reprieve from cancellation and an episode extension.

Although talks have yet to formerly begin, sources quoted by The Hollywood Reporter believe an offer is imminent, especially given the start date of July is just around the corner. Although, crucially, Marvel has yet to comment.

Thor 2 is being helmed by Alan Taylor, of TV’s Game of Thrones fame, with Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins all returning, and Mads Mikkelsen in negotiations to play the villain.

That said, Mikkelsen has just landed the key role of Hannibal Lecter in new NBC series Hannibal. So, watch that space. Find out more
