Cloverfield Lane (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) - Trailer

Cloverfield Lane

A surprise trailer has been released for a sequel to smash-hit Cloverfield.

10 Cloverfield Lane stars John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead and is linked to the 2008 monster movie.

According to producer JJ Abrams: “The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.”

The film in question was previously known as both Valencia and The Cellar, and was initially thought to be a short.

The plot is said to start with a woman (played by Winstead) waking up in a cellar, to be told that it isn’t safe to leave by the only other person with her (Goodman).

Alluding to things a little more, leading lady Winstead recently told IGN: “Throughout the whole movie you’re wondering if he’s telling the truth… is he trustworthy, is he a nice guy, is he not a nice guy? And it really goes on a rollercoaster of thinking he’s definitely a horrible guy and then no, he’s just misunderstood.

“You’re really just on the ride with my character, in terms of who she can trust in the scenario and if she’s safer with him or safer escaping and battling whatever war is happening or not happening outside. So it’s a pretty interesting one.”

Cloverfield Lane is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and is due for release in the US on March 11 and in the UK on April 8, 2016.
