Colin Trevorrow to direct Jurassic Park 4
Story by Jack Foley
COLIN Trevorrow has been named as director of Jurassic Park 4.
The filmmaker shot to prominence off the back of indie time travel comedy Safety Not Guaranteed but has emerged as something of a surprise choice to helm such a big blockbuster.
He will be working from a script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing and Steven Spielberg, the franchise’s original director, executive producing.
Script details at this stage are being kept under wraps but the film is due for release in June 2014.
Trevorrow’s debut feature, Safety Not Guaranteed, won widespread critical acclaim and picked up a best first screenplay award and nomination for best first feature at the Independent Spirit Awards.
It also started rumours that Trevorrow could have been in line to direct one of Disney’s new Star Wars movies.
The first three Jurassic Park films, which launched in 1993, have taken $1.9 billion at the box office.
