Cult comic book Bone headed for big screen
Story by Jack Foley
CULT comic book Bone is being developed into a movie that’s being described as a mix of Shrek, Looney Tunes and The Marx Brothers in a Lord of the Rings landscape.
Dan Lin, co-producer of Sherlock Holmes, told Collider that a director for the project is due to be announced early next year, while a script is currently being completed by Justin Monjo.
Animalogic, the animation company behind Happy Feet and Zack Snyder’s forthcoming Guardians of Ga’Hoole, is also preparing the design and look of the movie.
Written by Jeff Smith, the Bone comics follow the fortunes of Fone Bone, Smiley Bone and Phoney Bone, who find themselves on a world-saving adventure against a dark lord after being exiled from their home-town of Boneville following a hapless mayoral campaign.
