Curtis Jackson and Val Kilmer reunite for gun drama
Story by Jack Foley
CURTIS ’50 Cent’ Jackson and Val Kilmer are to reunite for a new thriller centred around the world of gun dealing.
The Gun will see the duo playing two friends whose relationship and loyalty is tested when they get involved in the illegal world of dealing, according to Variety.
A passion project for Jackson, the script reportedly grew out of the rapper’s fascination for how weapons go from being manufactured for legal use to falling into the hands of the wrong people.
“It’s a socially conscious theme that people aren’t paying attention to,” he told Variety.
The Gun marks the first of three scripts for potential feature films that Jackson has written as he looks to explore themes in greater depth than his rap career allows.
“When you write a song, you need to say it in three minutes or it is overkill, but I like creating stories and going in depth with characters,” he added.
Jackson has previously starred alongside Kilmer and Sharon Stone in the New Orleans set thriller Streets of Blood.
