Daniel Craig to 'cameo' as a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

DANIEL Craig is to cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as a Stormtrooper, according to Simon Pegg.

Speaking at the London premiere of his latest movie, Man Up, Pegg appeared to drop the reveal when questioned by reporters about his possible cameo in JJ Abrams’ eagerly anticipated movie.

His reply, to The Sun newspaper, was: “I wasn’t a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper.”

He then added: “I shouldn’t have said that.”

Whether or not Pegg was pulling the journalist’s leg remains to be seen, although the 007 actor has also been repeatedly linked with the Star Wars movie.

Indeed, an insider has been quoted as saying: “‘Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role – and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him.”

Whether or not that will be possible, given the Stormtrooper attire, may be a mission impossible in itself.

Craig is currently shooting the latest James Bond movie, Spectre, which is due to open in UK cinemas in November, several weeks ahead of The Force Awakens.

Another rumour circulating around the latest Star Wars film is that unpopular character Jar Jar Binks will be killed off “unceremoniously” in the new film. This report is apparently based on a quote from Abrams himself.
