Daniel Radcliffe to star in Jungle thriller

The Woman in Black

Story by Jack Foley

DANIEL Radcliffe has signed up to star in survival thriller Jungle.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Harry Potter star will play young adventurer Yossi Ghinsberg, who heads into the Amazon in what turns out to be a dangerous expedition.

The script is being based on Ghinsberg’s memoir about his trip up the Amazon with two friends and a guide.

Ghinsberg’s story has already been the subject of a Discovery Channel docu-drama series called I Shouldn’t Be Alive.

Greg McLean (of Wolf Creek fame) will direct the psychological thriller, while fellow Australian Justin Monjo has penned the script.

Gary Hamilton, managing director of Arclight Films, told The Hollywood Reporter: “We’re extremely excited about Daniel Radcliffe joining the cast of Jungle. “He has an enthusiastic global fan base, a wide range as an actor as evident by his diversity of roles and is known for picking out unique and interesting projects.”

Radcliffe’s work since he left the Harry Potter franchise has been deliberately varied, ranging from critical hits The Woman in Black and Kill Your Darlings to box office flop Victor Frankenstein.

He recently divided audiences at the Sundance Film Festival by playing a flatulent corpse in Swiss Army Man and will next be seen in the blockbuster sequel Now You See Me 2.
