Dean Parisot to direct Red sequel

Story by Jack Foley

DEAN Parisot looks set to direct Bruce Willis in a sequel to Red.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the filmmaker – whose credits include Fun With Dick & Jane and Galaxy Quest – is in final negotiations, having won the gig ahead of several other directors.

A script is already in place, having been penned by Erich and Jon Hoeber, who wrote the script for the first installment.

RED saw Willis lead a cast including Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Morgan Freeman as a group of over-the-hill special ops agents forced out of retirement to save their own lives.

The same quartet is expected to reprise their roles although no deals have reportedly been struck.

Summit, the new owners of Lionsgate, will be financing the film and are looking to start after Willis has completed Die Hard 5, possibly later this year.
