Dennis Quaid joins surfer Bethany Hamilton biopic

DENNIS Quaid and Helen Hunt have joined the cast of a new film about teen surfing champion and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton.
Soul Surfer is an independent drama that’s based on Hamilton’s autobiography.
AnnaSophia Robb has signed on to play the surf icon who defied all odds to compete and win professional championships after losing her arm in a shark attack at the age of 13.
Quaid and Hunt will play Hamilton’s parents, while country music star Carrie Underwood will make her big screen debut in the role of a church youth leader, according to Variety.
The film, which has been a long time in development, will be directed by Sean McNamara.
