Die Hard 6 given working title and Tokyo setting
Story by Jack Foley
THE sixth film in the Die Hard franchise has been given a working title and a new location: Tokyo.
Total Film magazine is reporting that the film’s provisional title will be Die Hardest. The action, meanwhile, will kick off in New York and head to Tokyo.
British screenwriter Ben Trebilcook is working on a treatment and is quoted as saying: “It is extremely faithful to the franchise and characters and is a natural progression. It’s also a very plausible storyline.”
Elaborating on how likely his treatment will see the light of day, Trebilcook added: “”[There’s] the possibility producers might go back and find some other source material to base the next one on, like they did with the first and second. Mine though, I feel it could be the Rocky Balboa of the Die Hard franchise.”
The fifth film in the Die Hard franchise, A Good Day To Die Hard, was set in Russia and was critically panned. It has taken $302,361,531 at the world-wide box office so far.
