Disney's The Lion King - I'm Gonna Name Him Fred clip and 1 more

The Lion King

DISNEY has released 2 new clips for The Lion King, which is arriving in UK cinemas on July 19, 2019.

The film is directed by Jon Favreau, the man behind the live-action remake of The Jungle Book, and stars Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce (who will play his love interest Nala) and Chiwetel Ejiofor, as his evil uncle Scar. James Earl Jones, who voiced Mufasa in the 1994 animated original, returns in the same role for this remake.

Disney’s 1994 cartoon is the ninth-highest-grossing animated film of all time, and won much praise for its score by Elton John and Tim Rice.

It also spawned a stage musical that is still running in New York and London.

Including global productions, the show has been seen by an estimated 95 million people.

The Lion King is among almost a dozen big titles Disney is planning to release next year, including Tim Burton’s live-action Dumbo, sequels to Frozen and Toy Story, and new instalments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (including Avengers 4) and Star Wars franchise.
