Disney sets release date for Indiana Jones 5

Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull

Story by Jack Foley

DISNEY has set a release date for the fifth Indiana Jones movie: July 19, 2019.

The film will see Harrison Ford once again reprising his role as the world’s most famous adventurer, while Steven Spielberg will direct.

Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are back on board as producers – although George Lucas is not expected to be involved.

Making the announcement, Alan Horn, Chairman of Walt Disney Studios, said: “Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019.

“It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

The release of Indiana Jones 5 will be more than a decade since 2008’s critically derided Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which nevertheless still pulled in almost $800 million at the global box office.

As yet, plot details concerning the fifth outing remain unknown.
