Dwayne Johnson for earthquake movie San Andreas

DWAYNE Johnson is to star in earthquake disaster movie San Andreas.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be set in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake that hits California and focuses on a man (Johnson) as he makes a perilous trip across the state to rescue his estranged daughter.
Brad Peyton, who directed Johnson in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, is behnd the lens, while the script is being re-written by Chad and Carey Hayes from an original draft from Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore.
New Line is hoping to commence filming in April 2014 with a view to releasing the film in 2015. The distributor also intends to out-do Roland Emmerich-style disaster movies (The Day After Tomorrow/2012) with the scope and scale of the film.
Johnson is currently shooting Fast & Furious 7 after recently completing Hercules: The Thracian Wars for director Brett Ratner.
