Elijah Wood to play Iggy Pop in The Passenger

THIS may seem like strange casting but Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood is set to play rock legend Iggy Pop in a movie about his life.
According to trade magazine Variety the biopic, entitled The Passenger, will concentrate on Pop’s early career with The Stooges.
It is due to begin filming within six months.
The project reportedly has the blessing of Pop himself – although he will not be taking part in it.
Ironically, The Stooges recently reformed and are currently in the middle of a tour in support of their first album in over 30 years,
The Weirdness.
They are rumoured to be playing a set at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
