Elizabeth Banks to reunite with James Gunn for new horror movie

Slither

Story by Jack Foley

ELIZABETH Banks is reuniting with director James Gunn for an as-yet untitled horror movie.

The two last worked together to memorable effect on 2006’s Slither. Gunn has since gone on to direct both Guardians of the Galaxy movies, while Banks has two major franchises to her name in the form of The Hunger Games and Pitch Perfect.

Brian and Mark Gunn wrote the script for the project, details of which are being kept under wraps.

David Yarovesky, who co-wrote and directed the 2015 horror movie The Hive, is sitting behind the camera, which is eyeing a production start in the spring.

Gunn said in a statement: “Elizabeth and I have been on the same artistic page since we first met when she auditioned for Slither back in 2005. She’s since remained one of my best friends in the world, and I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to work with her again. She’s the perfect partner to Yarvo, the H Collective and myself in creating this very special project.”

Banks currently has The Happytime Murders, opposite Melissa McCarthy, and her next directorial effort, a reboot of Charlie’s Angels, in the works.
