Story by Jack Foley

EMMA Stone will star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Woody Allen’s next film.

As usual, Allen has yet to name the project but he will likely write, produce and direct it. Similarly, no plot details have yet been divulged.

For Stone, the film marks a reunion with Allen, who is known for working with the same actors over several films and who cast her in his most recent film, Magic in the Moonlight, which is currently in post-production.

Phoenix has, however, never worked with the director before.

Allen is currently riding high off the Oscar-winning success of his most recent movie, Blue Jasmine, which saw its leading lady Cate Blanchett scoop every award she was nominated for.

Stone can currently be seen reprising her role as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which earned $91.7 million in the US during its opening weekend.

Her other upcoming projects include the Untitled Cameron Crowe Project and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Birdman.
