ESAI Morales is to replace British actor Nicholas Hoult in Mission: Impossible 7.

The latter has had to drop out of the film due to scheduling conflicts.

Like other Hollywood productions, the next Mission: Impossible movie remains shutdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But the delay has meant that Hoult has needed to leave the project. He had been set to play the villain in the piece, which stars Tom Cruise and is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

Morales is known for work on TV series such as NYPD Blue, How to Get Away With Murder and Titans.

The seventh Mission: Impossible is one of two new instalments in the Tom Cruise fronted franchise. Its cast further includes Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby and Henry Czerny.

Paramount and Skydance have M:I 7 currently dated for release on November 19, 2021, with the eighth instalment following in 2022 – subject to schedules remaining intact following the Covid-19 lockdown.
