Ethan Hawke joins untitled horror thriller

Story by Jack Foley

ETHAN Hawke is to star in an untitled horror thriller from Scott Derrickson, which is being produced by Jason Blum of Insidious and Paranormal Activity fame.

Derrickson, who directed The Exorcism of Emily Rose, is due to begin shooting the micro-budgeted horror-thriller in September – although plot details are being kept under wraps.

Hawke, though, is on a hot run of filmmaking, having recently completed a TV adaptation of Moby Dick, starring opposite William Hurt in the role of first officer Starbuck, and Pawel Pawlikowski’s The Woman in the Fifth alongside Kristin Scott Thomas.

In the latter, he plays a college lecturer who flees to Paris after a scandal costs him his job.

The actor will also make a cameo appearance in Len Wiseman’s remake of Totall Recall, starring opposite Colin Farrell and Bryan Cranston.
