Eva Green joins Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Story by Jack Foley
EVA Green has joined the cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For as a femme fatale.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Bond girl will play the role of Ava Lord, a character who is at the centre of the pulpy story first published as a comic book in the 1990s.
Her casting marks the end of a long search for the right actress by co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller.
Her story involves a photographer named Dwight (played by Josh Brolin) who falls back into her life even though she had left him years earlier for a wealthy man. He subsequently finds himself set up for the murder of her husband.
In a joint statement, Rodriguez and Miller said: “Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green.”
Green is one of several newcomers to the Sin City world, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Chung, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple and Julia Garner.
Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson and Jaime King are all reprising their roles from the original.
Green will next be seen in Warners’ 300 sequel 300: Rise of an Empire.
