Fast & Furious 5

Story by Jack Foley

FAST & Furious 6 has landed a prestigious US release date on Memorial Day weekend – May 24, 2013.

Buoyed by the runaway success of Fast & Furious 5: Rio Heist, which has become the most successful film in the franchise so far, and which will soon shoot past the $600 million mark at the world-wide box office, Universal have fast-tracked a sixth film into production.

Justin Lin will once again direct and the film will reunite cast members from all previous films. No plot details have yet been leaked.

Another high-profile Universal release, R.I.P.D., has also been set for a US release on June 28, 2013.

The supernatural action adventure is based on the Dark Horse comic and stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as two undead cops working in the Rest In Peace Department trying to move wayward spirits to the other side. Robert Schwentke directs.
