Film Four Summer Screen 2008: Line-up announced

Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain

Compiled by Jack Foley

FILM4 Summer Screen returns for another 10 nights of film fun between July 31 and August 9.

The magnificent Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court at Somerset House will once again be transformed into a full-scale open-air cinema with state-of-the-art giant screen, 35mm projection and surround-sound.

Arrive early, relax and soak up the atmosphere before the film with good food, drinks and DJs.

However, film fans should book tickets quickly as they’re selling fast!

Highlights include…

Saturday, August 2

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (15)
Strong emotions under the stars with director Ang Lee’s profound and powerful romantic-drama. The late Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall dominate the screen, their love for one another set against the striking landscape of the American West.

Two extraordinary excursions into the mind of director David Lynch. First, an unforgettable vision of Victorian London in the heartbreaking The Elephant Man, followed by the mad, bad and definitely dangerous road-movie romance Wild at Heart.
