A FIRST-look photo of Carrie Pilby, the feature film adaptation of Caren Lissner’s critically-acclaimed, best-selling novel of the same name, has just been released, featuring lead actress Bel Powley.

The film has completed principal photography in New York City with Powley joined by a cast including Nathan Lane, Gabriel Byrne, Vanessa Bayer, Colin O’Donoghue, William Moseley and Jason Ritter.

Kara Holden (Middle School, Soul Surfer) adapted the book for the screen. Independent Spirit Award-winner Susan Johnson is making her feature directorial debut.

Bel Powley, 2015 Best Actress Gotham Award winner for Diary of A Teenage Girl, stars as the title character, a 19-year-old genius awkwardly finding her way in New York City after graduating early from Harvard.

Tony Award-winner Nathan Lane (upcoming American Crime Story, The Birdcage) plays ‘Dr. Petrov,’ Carrie’s therapist.

Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment, The Usual Suspects) will play Carrie’s father, Mr Pilby; Vanessa Bayer (Trainwreck, Saturday Night Live) plays a misguided mentor and William Moseley (Chronicles of Narnia, The Royals) plays Carrie’s love interest in the film.
