Story by Jack Foley

A first look photo of Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway in noir thriller Serenity has just been released by IM Global.

Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee Steven Knight, the film follows the mysterious tale of a fishing boat captain whose past is about to crash up against his life on a small island in the tropics and ensnare him in a new reality that might not be all it seems to be.

Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Academy Award® nominee Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy, Blood Diamond), and Jeremy Strong (The Big Short, upcoming Detroit) also star in the film.

It has also just been announced that Academy Award® nominee Diane Lane (Trumbo, Under the Tuscan Sun, Unfaithful) has joined the cast.

Lane recently completed shooting The Silent Man, starring Liam Neeson, and will be seen later in the year in Zach Snyder’s Justice League, starring Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot.

Her films credits include Unfaithful, which garnered her Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nominations, Under The Tuscan Sun, for which she was also nominated for a Golden Globe®, Trumbo, starring Bryan Cranston and worldwide box office hit Man of Steel.

Lane replaces the previously announced Uma Thurman, who had to drop out due to scheduling difficulties.

Serenity is currently shooting on location in Mauritius.
