The Burning Plain

Story by Jack Foley

FRED Savage, the former Wonder Years luminary, is to direct Charlize Theron in the comedy Ladies Night.

Described by The Hollywood Reporter as a Bridesmaids style comedy, the film will focus on a woman who decides to have one last night on the town with her girlfriends before uprooting her life and moving to New York once she becomes frustrated with her current boyfriend’s inability to commit.

David Caspe (Happy Endings) has penned the screenplay based on his original pitch.

Savage has previously cut his teeth by directing TV comedies such as Modern Family and 2 Broke Girls and has also worked on two pilots, Jacked Up and The McCarthys.

Theron, who will be making a rare foray into out and out comedy, is currently shooting Mad Max: Fury Road. She was last seen in the blockbuster double Snow White & The Huntsman and Prometheus.
