FrightFest 2013 unveils line-up and 10 world premieres

THIS year’s Film4 FrightFest will include 10 world premieres, it was revealed Friday as the full line-up was announced.

The world premieres include Banshee Chapter, which is produced by Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto, retro Spanish chiller For Elisa and Kit Ryan’s Dementamania, which is described as The Fly meets The Office.

There’s also the epidemic shocker Antisocial and eagerly anticipated festival opener is The Dead 2: India from the Ford Brothers.

In a typically strong line-up for horror fans, there are also a number of European and UK premieres in the mix.

European premieres include Don Mancini’s Curse of Chucky, Steven R. Monroe’s I Spit on Your Grave 2 and the Argentinean drama The Desert.

While UK premieres of note include Vincenzo Natali’s Haunter, Ryuhei Kitamura’s No One Lives (starring Fast & Furious 6‘s Luke Evans), Lasse Hallstrom’s The Hypnotist, Bobcat Goldthwait’s horror-comedy Willow Creek, producer Adam Green’s Hatchet III, acclaimed anthology V/H/S/2, Renny Harlins’ mystery thriller The Dyatlov Pass Incident and Marina De Van’s high-voltage shocker Dark Touch.

There will also be previews of The Grief Tourist, starring Michael Cudlitz and Melanie Griffith and Adam Wingard’s You’re Next.

The closing night film is Big Bad Wolves.

This year’s FrightFest runs from August 22 to 26 in London.
