Guardians of the Galaxy will feed into Avengers 3

Guardians of the Galaxy

MARVEL’S Guardians of the Galaxy will be connected to Avengers 3.

The revelation was made by the film’s writer-director, James Gunn, in an interview with US publication Entertainment Weekly, in which he stated: “We’re definitely connected to Avengers 3.”

Just how this will happen remains unsaid but Variety has been speculating using its extensive knowledge of the Marvel universe.

According to that trade publication, the link looks almost certain to come from Thanos, the main villain in Guardians who killed the families of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) and raised the pair as siblings.

Thanos has already been teased as being part of The Avengers universe when he appeared during the final credits of Joss Whedon’s original film, while writer-artist Jim Starlin has also confirmed that he will re-appear in the forthcoming sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Guardians of the Galaxy, which also stars Chris Pratt, is due to hit US cinemas in August this year, while the keenly-anticipated Age of Ultron lands on May 1, 2015. More will no doubt be revealed then…
