Guy Ritchie linked to Man from U.N.C.L.E

Guy Ritchie directs Sherlock Holmes

Story by Jack Foley

GUY Ritchie and Lionel Wigram, the director and a producer of the Sherlock Holmes franchise, are reportedly in talks to come take over the Man from U.N.C.L.E project recently vacated by Steven Soderbergh.

The project would see them reuniting with Warner Bros and potentially stepping into a vehicle that is almost ready to go.

But the only problem would be in seeing whether they are prepared to keep the ’60s setting. Otherwise, Warners is keen to make a start.

Soderbergh dropped out in mid-November over casting and budgetary issues and is setting up a pharma-psychological thriller The Bitter Pill as an alternative.

Ritchie and Wigram are about to unveil their sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which opens in the UK and the US on December 16.
