Harrison Ford joins Ender's Game

Cowboys and Aliens

Story by Jack Foley

HARRISON Ford has officially joined the cast of Ender’s Game along with Abigail Breslin.

The film is an adaptation of the acclaimed sci-fi novel by Orson Scott Card, which is being directed by Gavin Hood (of Wolverine and Tsotsi fame).

The film is set in a future where the Earth is under attack by an insect-like race and mankind has created a battle school to train fighting forces.

It’s here that Ender Wiggin (played by Hugo star Asa Butterfield) proves himself to be a master at a three-dimensional, zero-gravity laser tag-like game despite being tormented by bullies and an older brother.

Needless to say, it could make him the unlikely saviour of the human race.

Ford has been cast as the “Commander of Training for the International Fleet” at the academy who spots Ender’s potential and pushes him to be a ruthless annihilator, while Breslin will play his sister.

The movie is due to begin shooting in February and also has “True Grit”: star Hailee Steinfeld and Sir Ben Kingsley among its cast.
