Helen Mirren joins Bruce Willis on Red

HELEN Mirren is to star in her first comic book movie, Red, alongside Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman.
Based on a three-book series from WildStorm/DC, the film follows a former black-ops CIA agent who is forced to come out of retirement when a high-tech assassin targets him.
Mirren will play a former associate of Willis’ character who has a lethal set of skills, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Production on Red is due to commence in January on location in Toronto and Louisiana.
Mirren will next be seen alongside Christopher Plummer and James McAvoy in The Last Station, which follows the tumultuous final year of novelist Leo Tolstoy’s life.
