Helena Bonham Carter joins The King's Speech

HELENA Bonham Carter and Guy Pearce (pictured) will join Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush on historical drama The King’s Speech.
They will also be joined by thesps Derek Jacobi, Timothy Spall and Michael Gambon, as well as Jennifer Ehle on Tom Hooper’s drama, according to Variety.
The film follows the young King George VI as he assumes the thrown in the days after the abdication of his brother, Edward.
It examines his attempts to correct a nervous stammer by employing unorthodox speech therapist, Lionel Logue, and the unlikely friendship that develops between them.
The film will reportedly follow the story up until the point that King George backs Churchill into leading Britain into the Second World War.
