Insidious sequel in the works

Story by Jack Foley

INSIDIOUS looks to be getting a sequel.

The original creative team of director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell are reportedly in talks to return for a new film.

The original film starred Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne as a couple who fear their house is haunted, only to realise that one of their sons has been possessed.

It took almost $100 million world-wide despite being made on a budget of only $1.5 million.

As yet, it’s not known whether the story will continue from where the original left off (following its shock ending), especially as both Byrne and Wilson are constantly in demand.

Byrne, especially, enjoyed a hot 2011 following hits in Insidious, X-Men: First Class and, especially, Bridesmaids

Wilson can currently be seen among the ensemble of Jason Reitman’s Young Adult

The Insidious sequel is scheduled to go into production this year for a 2013 release.
