James Cameron to adapt The Informationalist

James Cameron

Story by Jack Foley

JAMES Cameron has selected his first post-Avatar film.

The veteran filmmaker and his Lightstorm Entertainment company have acquired the rights to Taylor Stevens’s novel, The Informationalist.

But it will be some years before audiences can see it as Cameron has yet to complete work on Avatar 2 and 3.

The Informationalist is a thriller that follows a character named Vanessa ‘Michael’ Munroe, an information specialist who returns to her native central African country to hunt down the missing daughter of a Texas oil tycoon.

In a statement, Cameron said: “Taylor Stevens’s Vanessa ‘Michael’ Munroe is an intriguing and compelling heroine with an agile mind and a thirst for adventure.

“Equally fascinating for me is her emotional life and her unexpected love story. I’m looking forward to bringing Vanessa and her world to the big screen.”

A second book in the Munroe series, The Innocent, was published earlier this year and it is likely that Cameron would look to develop the sequel too.
