Jamie Foxx in Miami Vice

Story by Jack Foley

JAMIE Foxx has confirmed that he is starring in Quentin Tarantino’s Spaghetti Western Django Unchained.

Speaking at the US premiere of Horrible Bosses – in which he cameos – the Oscar winner said he was massively looking forward to playing the title character in the drama.

He also confirmed that Leonardo DiCaprio is to play the villain, Calvin Candie, with Samuel L Jackson as his right-hand man.

Inglourious Basterds‘ Christoph Waltz is also expected to saddle up for a reunion.

Django Unchained is a revenge film centred on a slave (Django) as he attempts to rescue his wife from a sadistic plantation owner (DiCaprio) with the help of a German bounty hunter (Waltz).

Commenting on the film, Foxx said that accepting the role was a no-brainer: “I think just to be able to work with Quentin Tarantino and Samuel Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and to be able to tell a story that needs to be told…

“If you’re a fan of Inglorious Basterds, I mean, you know. It’s just amazing. It should be [an] amazing [film].”
