Jamie Foxx in talks for Kane and Lynch adaptation

Jamie Foxx in The Kingdom

Story by Jack Foley

JAMIE Foxx is in final negotiations to play the killer James Lynch in videogame adaptation Kane and Lynch: Dead Men.

If successful, he would join Bruce Willis, who has been attached to play Kane in the action flick, since 2008.

Variety reports that production is due to commence in August under the first-time direction of Simon Crane, a second-unit director and stunt co-ordinator.

The game format follows Kane and Lynch over the course of 72 hours, as they pair up to travel the world and recover a doomsday device before Kane’s kidnapped wife and daughter are killed. The film is expected to follow the same storyline.

The game sold 1 million copies after it was initially released in 2007, when it attracted notoriety for its gritty action sequences, over-the-top violence and strong use of profanity.

A sequel, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, is currently in the final stages of development by Eidos for release this August.
