Story by Jack Foley

KEIRA Knightley is set to reunite with her Everest co-star Jason Clarke for post World War II drama The Aftermath.

Set in Hamburg, Germany, following World War II, the film will follow a British colonel who is charged with rebuilding the city.

While there, the colonel decides that he and his wife will share their new home with its previous tenants, a widower and his emotionally troubled daughter.

It is not yet known which role Clarke will play. But Alexander Skarsgard is also in negotiations to join the Fox Searchlight film.

James Kent will direct the historical drama, which has been adapted for the screen by Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel (who co-wrote the Jesse Owens biopic Race).

Clarke is currently starring opposite Carey Mulligan in Dee Rees’ Mudbound and is also set to play Senator Ted Kennedy in the political drama Chappaquiddick.

He and Knightley played husband and wife in Baltasar Kormakur’s Everest.

Knightley, for her part, is also poised to join Disney’s live-action version of The Nutcracker as the Sugar Plum Fairy.
