Jason Clarke to hunt Osama Bin Laden for Kathryn Bigelow

Jason Clarke, The Chicago Code

Story by Jack Foley

JASON Clarke has been cast in Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled drama about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.

The former Chicago Code star will reportedly play a terrorist-tracking specialist.

Bigelow’s Bin Laden movie is hoping to start shooting early next year and is based on a script from her Hurt Locker partner Mark Boal. Given recent events, and the death of Bin Laden, the original script had to be revised, prompting an initial delay.

But now things are back on track, Bigelow is amassing a cast with the likes of Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Rooney Mara and Guy Pierce all approaching the top of her wish-list.

Clarke, though, should bring the same kind of intensity as Renner brought to The Hurt Locker and is a great first addition.

Having had The Chicago Code axed, he’s barely looked back, landing key parts in The Wettest County In The World and Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
