Jaume Collet-Serra to direct Disney's Jungle Cruise movie

Story by Jack Foley

JAUME Collet-Serra, best known for The Shallows and Liam Neeson thrillers Run All Night and Non-Stop, is to direct Disney’s Jungle Cruise movie.

Dwayne Johnson has already been announced as the lead actor in the action-adventure, which is based on the classic Disneyland ride.

Exact plot details for the film are still being kept under wraps at this stage but the park ride takes visitors on a journey through the rivers of the world, from Africa’s Nile and Congo rivers to South America’s Amazon. So, these will all expect to be featured on the big screen.

Disney is currently aiming for a start of production date sometime in spring 2018.

Ironically, Collet-Serra will be reuniting with Neeson for his next project, the mystery thriller The Commuter, which will chronicle the true story of the 51-day stand-off between the FBI and a cult in Waco, Texas.
