JERRY Bruckheimer has Tweeted the first picture of Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger.

The super-producer has used his Twitter account – @BRUCKHEIMERJB – to reveal the new look of the duo, which finds Depp in full Indian attire as Tonto riding alongside Hammer’s stern-faced lawman.

Gore Verbinski, who has previously worked with Depp on three of the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies as well as the Oscar winning animated hit Rango, directs, while Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson and William Fichtner co-star.

The big screen adaptation is scheduled for a May 2013 release. Filming is taking place on location in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado.

A statement recently put out by Disney to mark the start of shooting says of the plot: “The Lone Ranger is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humour, in which the famed masked hero is brought tolife through new eyes.

“Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice – taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.”

Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale and Ruth Wilson are also among the cast members, while the screenplay has been written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, of Pirates of the Caribbean fame, Eric Aronson and Justin Haythe.
