Jim Sturgess and Kate Beckinsale for Eliza Graves

One Day, Jim Sturgess

Story by Jack Foley

JIM Sturgess is to star alongside Kate Beckinsale in new psychological thriller Eliza Graves.

Directed by Brad Anderson, who recently enjoyed US box office success with Halle Berry thriller The Call, will helm the movie, which is loosely based on one of Edgar Allan Poe’s early works, the 1845 short The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sturgess will play a Harvard Medical School graduate who takes a job at a mental institution where the inmates have taken over and are posing as doctors.

He subsequently becomes obsessed with the title character (played by Beckinsale), who is one of the patients.

Shooting is due to commence in June on location in Bulgaria.

Sturgess was most recently seen in sci-fi epic Cloud Atlas and will next be seen alongside Geoffrey Rush in Giuseppe Tornatore’s The Best Offer as well as Juan Solanas’s Upside Down.

He also has the thriller Ashes with Luke Evans and Ray Winstone and recently wrapped the crime drama The Electric Slide.
