Joe Wright considers Hanna thriller

Joe Wright directs The Soloist

Story by Jack Foley

BRITISH director Joe Wright is in talks to direct action-adventure thriller Hanna.

The film focuses on a 14-year-old Eastern European girl who has been raised by her father to be a killer, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

After spending some time with a French family re-discovering her teens and going through adolescence, however, she is reluctant to return to her former life once she is dragged back into her father’s world.

The film is described as a cross between French thriller La Femme Nikita and the Bourne franchise. It has already attracted several high profile names, including Danny Boyle and Alfonso Cuaron.

Wright was recently attached to Indian Summer with Cate Blanchett until the period drama was put on hold amid budget and plot concerns. He has also denied being involved with a remake of My Fair Lady with Keira Knightley. Find out more
