Joel Kinnaman in talks for Tom Hardy's Child 44
Story by Jack Foley
JUST days after signing up to play Liam Neeson’s son in All Nighter, in-demand actor Joel Kinnaman is now eying a role in Tom Hardy’s Child 44.
If successful, the role would reunite him with director Daniel Espinosa, who previously worked with him on Snabba Cash and Safe House.
Set during the 1950s in Russia, Child 44 follows a member of the Soviet military police (played by Hardy) who finds himself the target of his own government’s suspicions while investigating a series of child murders.
Kinnaman is in talks to play Hardy’s ambitious and murderous nemesis.
Noomi Rapace is also among the cast as Hardy’s chameleon-like wife.
Richard Price wrote the script, which is based on Tom Rob Smith’s novel.
In addition to All Nighter, Kinnaman is also reprising his breakout role as a Seattle police detective for the third season of AMC’s thriller The Killing (pictured), which will shoot later this year.
And he’s recently wrapped on the big budget remake of Robocop.
