Joel Kinnaman lands key Arthur & Lancelot role

The Killing

Story by Jack Foley

JOEL Kinnaman, one of the stars of acclaimed US drama The Killing, has won the role of Lancelot in Arthur & Lancelot.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor is now in negotiations to star for director David Dobkin, who also wrote the script.

The role of Arthur has yet to be cast but Kinnaman will now do chemistry reads with several of Hollywood’s up-and-coming leading men, according to ‘sources’.

In landing the role, Kinnaman reportedly beat the likes of Kit Harrington (of HBO’s Game of Thrones), Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) and Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), as well as Liam Hemsworth.

Having first come to Hollywood’s attention in Swedish film Snabba Cash, Kinnaman then became a household name for his performance in The Killing, which he will reprise in Season 2.

In the meantime, he will be seen in Ryan Reynolds-Denzel Washington thriller Safe House for Snabba Cash director Daniel Espinosa as well as Snabba Cash 2, which has been shot in Sweden.
