Story by Jack Foley

BRITISH actor John Boyega is to star alongside Tom Hanks in The Circle.

The 23-year-old, who will shortly be seen in a prominent part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also line up with fellow Brit Emma Watson in the adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Dave Eggers.

According to Deadline, Boyega will play Ty, the founder of a futuristic company which is an amalgamation of Facebook, Twitter, Google and every other major online brand.

He strikes up a relationship with an employee, played by Watson, whose character – Mae – the story largely revolves around. Her relationship with the company starts out as incredibly rewarding but starts to fall apart the longer she spends with them.

James Ponsoldt, whose last film The End of the Tour won rave reviews after premiering at Sundance, is directing the adaptation.

Boyega originally broke out in the sci-fi comedy Attack The Block and has since starred alongside Kiefer Sutherland in 24: Die Another Day.
