John Moore to direct Die Hard 5

Die Hard 4.0

Story by Jack Foley

JOHN Moore is to direct Bruce Willis in Die Hard 5 following the departure of previous director Noam Murro

The move ends months of speculation surrounding who will helm the latest franchise instalment, with Fast Five helmer Justin Lin and Nicolas Refn of Drive both having been linked.

Original director Murro, who had been announced earlier this year, prompted the scramble for the hot seat after he decided to leave the project in favour of Warner Bros.‘s 300 sequel, 300: Battle of Artemisia.

Although little is known about the new Die Hard movie, it will be based on a script by Skip Woods and is said to feature McClaine’s son.

Moore’s previous features include Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman, the remakes Flight of the Phoenix and The Omen and – most recently – Max Payne.
