JOHN Travolta is to unite with Robert De Niro for new action movie Killing Season.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Travolta will shoot the movie on location in the Appalachian Mountains in January (2012), ahead of Gotti: In the Shadow of My Farther (which would have paired him with Al Pacino).

The film, to be directed by Mark Steven Johnson (of Ghost Rider fame), features De Niro as a military veteran who is living in a remote cabin, who is visited by a European tourist (Travolta), who turns out to be a former Serbian soldier looking for revenge.

Revealing a little more about what to expect, Paul Breuls, CEO of co-distributor Corsan, said: “It’s thrilling, imaginative, unexpected and dominated by two extraordinary characters on a collision course. I’m very pleased this film is moving into production and to be partnered with Avi Lerner and his team at Millennium.”
